COVID-19 Camp Guidelines

We are so excited to be able to return to offering youth programs. As per Health Unit recommendations, some of our youth program policies and guidelines have been adjusted, and there are some new requirements in terms of paperwork. Please check out below some of the important information you need to know about how we are helping keep your children safe:

Please note the programming advertised and policies may change and be adapted based on ongoing changes in regulations. Thank you for your patience.

Our camp policies and procedures surrounding COVID have been approved by the Thunder Bay Health Unit.

Commonly Asked Questions

  • Daily Screening
    • All campers and staff must complete an online daily screening form prior to attending camp, and will be required to show a passed screen at check-in. Any campers who fail their daily screen should contact the assessment centre to determine next steps.
  • Masks and PPE
    • Any adults entering camp premises (parents/guardians) will be required to wear non-medical masks, including at drop-off and pick-up
    • All staff must always wear a surgical/procedure mask when indoors, and outdoors unless they are over 2 metres away from others.
    • All campers must wear a well-fitting mask when indoors, unless they are participating in physical activity. When outdoors, masks will only be required if physical distancing cannot be maintained.
      • Campers will be asked to bring with them multiple cloth masks in case they lose theirs or soil one. Staff will not be permitted to handle masks, and as such all campers should be able to identify their own masks.
  • Vaccines
    • Any that is aged 12 and over will need to show proof of vaccination to participate in our programs, as per our Vaccine Policy for the University.
  • Social Distancing
    • Camp activities will be designed to encourage social distancing at all times, especially when engaging in physical activity.
