Lakehead University Sports Medicine Clinic provides high quality care in a multi-disciplinary rehabilitation facility. We use the latest in evidence-based treatment techniques and encourage recovery and progress through active living and healthy lifestyles. Our team consists of:

Physician:

Dr. Dave Mckee, M.D.

Dr. Mckee was born and raised in Northwestern Ontario. He trained at Queens University and the University of Calgary. Dave practiced emergency medicine in Thunder Bay for nearly 2 decades and has recently joined the Sports Medicine clinic at Lakehead University. Dave was also the team doctor for Canada’s World Cup Alpine ski team.

Orthopedic Surgeon: 

Dr. Russell Peter Clark

Dr. Clark has been a orthopedic sports specialist for Lakehead University for 14 years. He trained at the University of Manitoba and University of Ottawa. While studying at the University of Manitoba he competed as a varsity gymnast. He is also an avid cross-country skier, runner and cyclist.

Athletic Therapists: 

Joanna Sanchez, HBK, CAT(C)

Joanna is the Head Athletic Therapist for Lakehead University Athletics. She graduated from the Kinesiology program at Lakehead prior to completing her Athletic Therapy Certification at Mount Royal College in Calgary. Joanna has served the Thunder Bay sports community in events such as the World Junior Baseball Championships, CIS and OUA championships, along with high school and elementary school sports. She has been the Head Therapist for the Thunder Bay Border Cats baseball club since its inception in 2003.

Massage Therapist:

Britteny Horricks, RMT
Britteny provides specialized massage therapy treatments including pain management, injuries, headaches, migraines, sleep and digestive conditions, PTSD and mood stability.
