Achievement Program Summer Camp!

Join us! The Achievement Program summer camp is a balanced day of recreational and sport-based programming with our ActiveU team, paired with hands-on educational and cultural programming from faculty and staff at Lakehead University. Achievement Program students are eligible to register for 1 FREE week of camp and will include a t-shirt, snacks, lunch and transportation.

Camp Dates: 

July 19 – 23

  • Cohort 1 – LPS/TBCDSB Gr. 4 – 6 
  • Cohort 2 – LPS/TBCDSB Gr. 7 & 8
  • Cohort 3 – SGDSB/SNCDSB Gr. 4 – 6 

Aug 23 – 27

  • Cohort 1 – LPS/TBCDSB Gr. 4 – 6
  • Cohort 2 – SGDSB/SNCDSB Gr. 4 – 6

Camp Times: 9 – 4pm (with early and late pick up (8:30am – 4:30pm)

Additional Details:

  • Cohorts will consist of 20 campers max plus 2 staff.
  • Snacks and lunch are provided for all campers and will be pre-packaged and/or catered and follow covid19 food prep guidelines.
  • Transportation support is available, please indicate this on the registration form and indicate your home school which is where pick up and drop off would take place. 
  • Transportation for campers in SGDSB/SNCDSB will be available as long as minimum numbers are met. Approximate departure of 8:30am and return time of 4:30pm.
  • Other athletics camps may be available for students who are unable to attend our Achievement Program week. To inquire, please email achievementprogram@lakeheadu.ca

Covid-19 Guidelines

We are currently awaiting final guidelines, however at this time we know the following

  • Campers will be required to wear masks indoors
  • All efforts are being made to be outdoors on our University campus as much as possible to ensure social distancing and also allow some mask free time.
  • Campers will be cohorted by their region (Thunder Bay and Nipigon region) and camp wull run as long as minimum camp numbers are met per cohort.

IMPORTANT:

  • Please register for the appropriate cohort.
  • In order to register properly, please ensure that you have your child set as a dependent in your profile. Once you’ve signed in, you can go into your profile in the top right corner and select ‘Add a Dependent’. Once you get to the waiver page, please review the document and then use the grey box at the bottom to sign.

COVID-19 CAMP GUIDELINES

We are so excited to be able to return to offering youth programs. As per Health Unit recommendations, some of our camp policies and guidelines have been adjusted, and there are some new requirements in terms of paperwork. Please check out below some of the important information you need to know about how we are helping keep your children safe:

COVID-19 Waivers

All campers are required to complete an additional COVID-19 waiver prior to participation in any of our youth programming.  This waiver will be emailed to all camp participants in the pre-camp email.This waiver must be completed and submitted on the first date of camp. 

Daily Screening

All campers and staff must complete an online daily screening form prior to attending camp. Each camp will have a unique form emailed out to parents prior to the start of their program
