Holiday Hockey Camps 

Join the Thunderwolves for our holiday hockey camps! Please note ALL hockey camps are coed! This year we will have 3 holiday hockey camps running – U9 Skill Development, U11/U13 Skill Development, and U11/U13 Goalie Camp. See below for further details!

Registration for these camps includes a child ticket to the Jan 3 and 4th games vs the York Lions!

Location: Fort William Gardens

All Camp Dates: Dec 30, 31, Jan 2 and Jan 3 (NO JAN 1)

U9 Skill Development Camp

  • Ages: Skaters born 2016 and later
  • Description: Our U9 camp is perfect for young players looking to sharpen their fundamental hockey skills. With a focus on skating, puck control, shooting, and passing, this camp provides personalized coaching in a fun and supportive environment. Players will work on both individual skills and team play, helping them build confidence on the ice. Thunderwolves Head Coach Andrew Wilkins will be heading this camp with his players and staff!
  • Time: 11:30 am to 1:00 pm
  • Cost: $200

U11/U13 Skill Development Camp

  • Ages: Skaters born 2012 and later
  • Description: Designed for players in U11 and U13, this camp offers advanced skill development tailored to their age group. With focused drills on agility, stickhandling, shooting accuracy, and positioning, participants will enhance their hockey IQ and physical performance. Our experienced coaches will provide personalized feedback to help players elevate their skills and prepare for game situations. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to improve and compete at your best! Thunderwolves Head Coach Andrew Wilkins will be heading this camp with his players and staff!
  • Time: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
  • Cost: $200

U11/U13 Goalie Camp

  • Ages: Skaters born 2012 and later
  • Description: This specialized camp is for goalies of all ages looking to fine-tune their technique and reaction time. Our goalie-specific drills will cover everything from positioning and puck tracking to rebound control and quick lateral movement. Led by experienced goalie coaches, this camp offers a comprehensive training experience that helps goalies stay sharp and confident in the net. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to polish your skills, this camp is for you! Thunderwolves Goalie Coach Kari Rikkonen will be heading this camp with Thunderwolves goaltenders.
  • Time: 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
  • Cost: $250

thunderwolves hockey march break camps (mar 10-14)

Join us this March break for a week of fun and skill development on the ice with Thunderwolves Hockey coaches and players!

Location: Fort William Gardens

U7/U9 Camp

Time: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Description: This camp focuses on building strong hockey fundamentals for our youngest players. Participants will improve their skating mechanics, puck handling, and playmaking through fun drills and games. Key skills include:

  • Skating: Lengthening strides and improving turning techniques.
  • Puck handling: Enhancing control and spatial awareness.
  • Playmaking: Encouraging teamwork and quick decision-making.
    This camp is perfect for young players looking to grow their confidence on the ice while having a blast!

U11/U13 Camp

Time: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Description: Designed for developing players, this camp emphasizes mastering advanced fundamentals. Participants will work on:

  • Skating Mechanics: Developing efficient strides and smooth transitions.
  • Puck handling: Increasing precision and control under pressure.
  • Spatial Awareness & Playmaking: Making smart plays and reading the ice effectively.
    Through engaging drills and small-area games, players will sharpen their skills and enjoy a fun-filled week of hockey alongside Thunderwolves coaches and players.

Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to train with the Wolves! Spaces are limited to 25 players per group, so register early to secure your spot. Registration will be launching on Dec 9th at 9:00 am.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Navigate to our registration portal at: https://luathletics.lakeheadu.ca/
  2. Log in to your account by clicking “Sign In” at the top right of our registration portal. Be sure to use the main username/email box to sign in,  unless you are a lakehead faculty, student, or staff. If you are a current lakehead faculty, student, or staff with a MyInfo login, please select “click here for Lakehead User login” and use those credentials.
    1. For first time users, hit “sign up” at the bottom of the pop up box. Please create your user account using the parents information. Do not create the account in your child’s name.
    2. If you do not remember your username or password, you can hit “trouble logging in” to get your username sent to you or request a password reset email. You can also email athleticsfrontdesk@lakeheadu.ca or activeu@lakeheadu.ca for account access support
  3. Navigate to your program of choice by going to Program Registration, and then select the classification “Youth Programs” on the left hand side. You can narrow your search further by “Category” if desired (ActiveU, Basketball, Hockey etc.)
  4. Select your desired program.
  5. Click “Register” next to the offering you are wanting to register for. Then, click “register” next to your child’s name. If your child is not there, click “add a family member” to create their profile
    1. If the register button is missing, it is likely that you or your child are missing a birthday on your profile! You can edit or add birthdays by hitting your username in the top right corner of the page. You’ll need to change the ‘Viewing As’ person to the individual whose birthday you are trying to change, and then can hit the edit button.
  6. Complete the camp registration steps
    1. For the waiver page, be sure to click on the grey box and then sign in the white pop up box
    2. For the custom prompts, make sure you have selected a response for all required questions
