spring 2024 Track & Field/Cross Country Development PRogram

  • Description: Lakehead’s Track & Field/Cross-Country program’s aim is to introduce U12 and U14 athletes to the sport of Athletics, as well as athletic competitions. Track & Field/Cross-Country are foundational sports for all ages and abilities, structured around the development of skills and competition associated with running, jumping and throwing. We aim to create learning opportunities for athletes to actively participate competitively or recreationally in all disciplines of athletics and obtain new multisport skills.
  • Dates: April 16 to July 4
    • NOTE: This program includes registration for the Manitoba Track & Field Provincial Age Class Championships running July 5th and 6th, hence the end date running into July. Program participants are encouraged to run in this event, but it not required! 
  • Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Divisions:
    • 12U – Athletes in Grades 4 through 6
    • 14U – Athletes in Grades 7 and 8
  • Location: Lakehead University Hangar, 955 Sanders Drive
  • Cost: $240/both days, or $140/single day

Description: The Lakehead University Track & Field program presents our multi-sport Speed, Power & Agility Camp. This program is intended for athletes looking to improve their speed, power & agility in various sports (ex: Football, Basketball, Soccer, Hockey, etc…). Our program will focus on the 5 sports performance principles – SPEED, STRENGTH, SKILL, STAMINA & SUPPLENESS to improve athletic performance and foster a positive attitude towards sports. Athletes of all abilities are welcome!

Ages: This program is for athletes in grades 4 through 12. Grades 4 through 7 should register in U14, and Grades 8 through 12 should register in U18.

Spring Session Days/Times:

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm

Spring Session Dates: Program starts Tuesday, April 23rd and runs through until Thursday, June 27th

Location: Lakehead University Hangar (955 Sanders Drive)


  • Both Days (Tuesdays & Thursdays) – $210
  • Single Day (Tuesdays OR Thursdays) – $120

Registration: Registration is available for either Tuesdays & Thursdays or single days only. Registration will remain open until program start or capacity is reached.

  • Description: Join us this summer for our Track & Field Summer Camps! This camp is for children ages 8 through 14. Track & Field Summer Camp will focus on:
    • Skills of RUNNING, JUMPING and THROWING in age appropriate sequential progressions
    • FUN in a SAFE and ACTIVE learning environment
    • Improvement in physical and emotional well being
    • Team building atmospheres and effort
    • Equal opportunities for girls and boys
  • This camp is
    • Intended for athletes ages 8 through 12
    • Inclusive for all abilities and maturational stages
    • Broad based and progressive
    • Gender equitable
    • Adaptive to children/youth with disabilities
  • Location: Camps will take place on Lakehead Athletic Facilities premises, both outside and inside. Our address is 955 Sanders Drive.
  • Dates:
    • Week 1: July 8 to 12
    • Week 2: July 22 to 26
    • Week 3: Aug 12 to 16
  • Times:
    • All camps run from 9 am to 12 pm
  • Cost: $135

Registration Instructions

  1. Navigate to our registration portal at:
  2. Log in to your account by clicking “Sign In” at the top right of our registration portal. Be sure to use the main username/email box to sign in,  unless you are a lakehead faculty, student, or staff. If you are a current lakehead faculty, student, or staff with a MyInfo login, please select “click here for Lakehead User login” and use those credentials.
    1. For first time users, hit “sign up” at the bottom of the pop up box. Please create your user account using the parents information. Do not create the account in your child’s name.
    2. If you do not remember your username or password, you can hit “trouble logging in” to get your username sent to you or request a password reset email. You can also email or for account access support
  3. Navigate to your program of choice by going to Program Registration, selecting the classification “Youth Programs”, and then selecting the correct “Semester (which is Spring/Summer 2024 for summer camps”. You can narrow your search further by “Category” if desired (ActiveU, Basketball, etc.)
  4. Select your desired program.
  5. Click “Register” next to the offering you are wanting to register for. Then, click “register” next to your child’s name. If your child is not there, click “add a family member” to create their profile
    1. If the register button is missing, it is likely that you or your child are missing a birthday on your profile! You can edit or add birthdays by hitting your username in the top right corner of the page. You’ll need to change the ‘Viewing As’ person to the individual whose birthday you are trying to change, and then can hit the edit button.
  6. Complete the camp registration steps
    1. For the waiver page, be sure to click on the grey box and then sign in the white pop up box
    2. For the custom prompts, make sure you have selected a response for all required questions
