Sports Medicine Clinic Welcomes Dr. David McKee

‪The Sports Medicine Clinic (SMC) at Lakehead University welcomes the addition of Dr. Dave McKee to its staff of sports medicine and physiotherapy professionals. Originally from Longlac and a graduate from Queen’s Medical School (‘81), Dr. Dave McKee completed his residency in Calgary, and continued to work there until 1996. He has since returned home to Thunder Bay, working in the ER at TBRHSC for nearly two decades, and with the Canadian Alpine Ski Team at numerous World Cup events.‬

“Sports Medicine has been on my mind for ages,” says McKee. “I decided it was time to do something different,” adding, “We’ll start small, and take it from there.”

McKee joins a Sports medicine team that includes:

Dr. McKee has identified several ‘Guiding Principles’ in mind with his new position at the Sports Medicine Clinic:

•Complete Athlete Care (Cycle of injury; -surgical assist; -rehab; -return to sport; -prevention);

•Disabled/Special needs athletic care;

•Concussion and head injury management;

•Focussed care for Lakehead  and High School student athletes;

•Providing sport-specific treatment for all sports & activities for ages 10-to-110.

With the addition of Dr McKee, the Sports Medicine Clinic will be offering additional hours in which patients can receive consultations and care from Dr. McKee. Call 807-343-8936 to schedule an appointment.
