Track and Field team off to Minneapolis

The Lakehead Track and Field team is heading to the Jack Johnson Classic this weekend in Minneapolis, MN. The Jack Johnson Classic is a very competitive meet consisting of NCAA Division 1 teams as well as the University of Manitoba.

“This weekend will be a great opportunity to see where we are at and to test ourselves against some top level competition.  The athletes are healthy, fit, and ready to go so it should be a great weekend.” – Coach Sigsworth

The Thunderwolves successfully competed at the Twin Ports Invite last weekend where they received first in the Men’s Distance Medley Relay, Men’s 4 x 800m relay and Heather Maxfield won first in the women’s 800m.

The Thunderwolves will have four of their athletes competing this weekend at the Jack Johnson Classic including:

Joe McDonough – 600m

Heather Maxfield – 600m

Derek Patterson – 3000m

Josh Stovel – 3000m
