Lakehead Athletics to Begin Gradual Reopening of Fieldhouse & Hangar

Lakehead Athletics is planning to gradually reopen the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse and Hangar under recommended Public Health Guidelines. At this time, the reopening does not have a set schedule associated with it, however facility staff are working hard to ensure that the facility will provide a healthy and safe environment for the Lakehead University community to resume physical activity as soon as possible.

New procedures and guidelines will be in place for all facility users, including the requirement of masks when walking throughout the building and contactless check-in. Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures will be in place. In addition, some services such as towel service, day-use lockers, and equipment rental will be temporarily closed.

The facility will be running on a modified schedule and will have staggered 30 minute closures throughout the day to ensure thorough cleaning is completed.

Updates regarding the timeline of this reopening will be posted on our website, and communications will be sent out to members once a firm reopening date has been determined.

Locker Clear Outs

We are currently accepting requests for locker clear outs. We are asking that only members with an urgent need to access their locker contents complete this request form, due to limited staff access. Should you wish to request a locker clear out, please complete this google form. Once the request has been made, a staff member will bag all items in your locker and follow up with you to arrange a contactless pick-up

Expired Lockers

If your locker has expired and you do not have an urgent need for clear out, please do not complete a locker clear out request. Your contents will be kept in your locker until the facility has re-opened. At that time, we will have a grace period for you to clear out your locker.  No locks will be removed without warning to locker tenants.
