Lakehead Athletics’ Homecoming weekend is only days away

Lakehead Athletics is excited to welcome back the students, alumni and friends who have come to celebrate Lakehead University’s annual Homecoming Weekend from October 3-5, 2019. 

The Thunderwolves will be joined by a number of special guests throughout the weekend and are excited to welcome back Wall of Fame inductees, the 1969-70 men’s basketball team, over 20 of women’s volleyball alumni and all those in attendance for wrestling’s 50th-anniversary reunion. 

This year’s inductees will be recognized during the Wall of Fame ceremony taking place on Saturday, October 5th, 2019.  Congratulations will be extended to Ron Lappage (Builder), Kelly Roslinsky and Jylisa Williams (Female Athletes), Justin BeauParlant and Andy Ritchie (Male Athletes), and the 2001-02 Men’s Wrestling Team (Team).  More can be learned about the 2019 Wall of Fame inductees here.

Saturday’s Wall of Fame Induction Symposium begins at 11:00 AM with the ceremony to begin at 11:30 AM in the Hangar.

Following the ceremony, the alumni from women’s volleyball, and women’s and men’s basketball will be playing the Zanatta Alumni games. The games will be played in the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse starting at 2:00 PM.  

The Lakehead Thunderwolves Varsity Basketball teams will also be playing games on October 3rd and 4th of homecoming weekend. The games will be as follows:

Women’s Basketball vs Manitoba Bison – October 3 @ 6:00 PM

Men’s Basketball vs Winnipeg Wesmen – October 3 @ 8:00 PM 

Men’s Basketball vs Winnipeg Wesmen – October 4 @ 12:00 PM

Women’s Basketball vs Manitoba Bison – October 4 @ 2:00 PM
