The Lakehead University Thunderwolves men’s basketball team is pleased to announce that Laoui Msambya of Quebec City, QC has committed to the program. The 6’0” point guard played for Thetford Academy last season and was ranked nationally as the 59th best player in the 2019 class by North Pole Hoops. “I chose Lakehead University over other schools because of the way Coach Thomson recruied me. He made me feel valued and important. They dynamic of the recruitment meant a lot to me and the way he wanted to make me a valuable part of the team and he didn’t see me as just another number or player. The first thing I want to do us help the team in any way possible and continue to develop as a player” said Msambya. “I’m very happy to officially announce Laoui as an LU commitment. Laoui is just the kind of physical and unselfish guard that every good team needs. We’re excited about Laoui’s ability to see the floor and create advantages for us in PnR actions as well as in transition,” said Head Coach Ryan Thomson
