The Lakehead women’s volleyball team finished a tough weekend with another loss to the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday night, losing in three straight sets, 25-17, 25-17, and 25-18.
“Credit to Waterloo,” Thunderwolves head coach Craig Barclay said. “They are a very good team. They were able to capitalize on a lot of our errors.”
Waterloo featured a balanced attack that saw nine different players record kills. Rheanna Geisel again led the Thunderwolves, notching 11 kills on 30 attempts.
“I was very happy with how our team adjusted tonight,” Barclay said. “We made some small changes between the two matches and they executed well. At the end of the day, we had a hard time with our offensive output tonight which made it hard to score points.” Lakehead finished the night with a hitting percentage of .091, as opposed to Waterloo’s .190.
“It was another tough night tonight,” Barclay said, “but I’m looking forward to getting back to work this week for our next set of matches.”
The Thunderwolves women’s volleyball team hits the road next weekend, playing Nipissing University in North Bay on November 10th, and York University in Toronto on November 11th.
