Coach Jon Kreiner continued to re-load his backcourt this week, with Bloomington, Minnesota’s Za’Keea Sa’eed-El committing to the Thunderwolves.
Standing at 5’1″, Sa’eed-El has overcome what she lacks in height with hustle and playing intelligent basketball during her two years at Anoka Ramsey CC in Bloomington. She lead her team to the National Junior College D3 tournament, and has amassed a long list of all star awards along the way, including being named the national player of the week in January.
Za’Keea is enrolled in Lakehead’s Kinesiology program, and has an interest in studying business as well. At Anoka Ramsey CC she averaged 11.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
“Za’keea Sa’eed-El is one of the quickest and most athletic kids we’ve had at Anoka Ramsey in my 10 years here,” says coach Dave DeWitt. “She can be a lock down defender and can also consistently beat people off the dribble. She was a big reason we finished the year 22-8 and made our 15th National tournament appearance. As her confidence continues to grow she will bring a lot of excitement to Lakehead University Basketball.”
