After a slow start to the game, Winnipeg led 30-27 at halftime. Both teams found their shooting touches in the second half, scoring 24 points apiece.

The difference mBacariuslft_layinaker in the game was the final quarter, in which Winnipeg stretched their lead to 65-56 with under 6 minutes to play. That’s when Lakehead rolled off an 11-0 run to re-take the lead with under a minute to play.

The ‘Wolves led by three with under 15 seconds to play, and on a crafty inbounds play, threw an ally-oop to Bacarius Dinkins, who slammed it home to extend the ‘Wolves lead.

Although Jelane Pryce banked in a quick three on the following possession, Lakehead would hold on for the win.

Dinkins had team-high 26 points with 11 rebounds, while Henry Tan had 24 points, with three 3-pointers.

For the Wesmen, Jelane Pryce scored 26 points and Denzel Lynch-Blair scored 13 points with 9 rebounds.

The two teams will rematch tomorrow at 8pm. Webcast available via  www.oua.tv
