| Basketball (M), News

Head Coach Manny Furtado of the men’s basketball program announced his first recruit of the off-season today: Nahshon Hurst, a 6’2 guard from Bill Crothers Secondary School in Markham, Ontario.

Nahshon Hurst_recruitHurst, who will pursue his studies in psychology at Lakehead University, also played with the GTA Bounce club program.

‎”We are very excited to have Nahshon join Lakehead University and our basketball program. Nahshon’s athleticism, length, and competitive drive will definitely help our team going forward, said Coach Furtado.

Hurst joins the ranks of Thunderwolves who felt the warmth and charm of Lakehead University, not to mention its devout fan base, when deciding on an institution that supports excellence in academics, athletics and student life.

Says Hurst, “I chose Lakehead because it is the perfect school for me to focus on becoming the best individual, student and basketball player I can be.‎ I see the potential of the team and the championship calibre level they can perform at. There aren’t many places as supportive as Lakehead. I’m looking forward to being part of the team and the city. I want to help bring the title home to Thunder Bay!”
