Sprinter Tia Lampo competes in Montreal

| Track & Field
The Lakehead Track and Field team sent down Tia Lampo this weekend to compete in the 2018 McGill Team Challenge in Montreal, QC. On Canada’s fastest track Tia was poised to perform well, finishing the meet with a new personal best in the 300m in a time of 41.50, placing 21st of 67 athletes.
“I was pleased with Tia’s mental toughness and positivity this weekend, it’s been something we’ve been trying to work on the past few weeks and this was certainly a step in the right direction. Her race was good, but she’s capable of much more – we just need to piece everything together. Tia had a very slow start, but still managed to make it up in the later stages of the race and achieve a new personal best. Being able to set new personal bests off of poorly-executed races is certainly encouraging on the physical side of things  – we’ll shift our focus to fixing her starts and preparing her for the championship parts of the season,” said Lakehead’s sprinting coach Joe McDonough
Next up, The Lakehead Track & Field team will be traveling to Winnipeg, Manitoba to compete in the 2018 Bison Classic on February 2nd – 3rd.
