Thunderwolves Host Western Mustangs

The Lakehead women’s volleyball team (3-7) is back at home this weekend taking on the Western Mustangs on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

“Western brings in an experienced team filled with an impressive resume. Kelsey Veltman leads Western as an OUA yearly First Team All Star. She gives Western a dominant middle attack and has the ability to swing from every position on the court. The Mustangs have veteran leadership at the setting position and as we know a good quarterback makes a big difference.” – Coach Chris Green

Western (6-3) is second in the OUA West and has won four out of the last five games. One of the top 5 hitters in the league, Kelsey Veltman averages 3.26 kills per set and last year was named the OUA West Division Player of the Year.

“We will have to serve tough and learn from last weekend where we struggled being in sync. We will need every player to bring their attention to Western, and have that as their only focus right now.”

The Wolves had three losses this past weekend against Guelph and Waterloo but will be looking to bounce back on home turf starting this Saturday afternoon.
