The Lakehead University Thunderwolves men’s basketball team is pleased to announce that Chume Nwigwe of Toronto, ON has committed to the program.

The 6’4” wing played for the Midland College Chaparrals last season, starting in 23 of 27 games and recording an average of 4.2 PPG.

“As I left Midland college I wasn’t sure where I wanted to continue my basketball career, but once LU and coach Thomson reached out to me, they’ve showed me endless support and love. I love the atmosphere with everyone both the coaching staff and the team. I believe that LU will be the best spot for me to develop and take my game to the next level,” said Nwigwe.

“We’re excited that Chume decided to join the Thunderwolves family. He’s a hard worker, a good athlete and a great kid. He has great physical tools to combine with a good feel for the game. We’re looking forward to helping Chume develop as a player and person,” said Head Coach Ryan Thomson
