Lakehead’s men’s basketball team is proud to announce the signing of 6’2 guard Rayshawn Scarlett of Toronto, Ontario.

“I’m excited to announce Rayshawn’s commitment to the Thunderwolves family,” men’s basketball head coach Ryan Thomson says. “Rayshawn is a great kid who works tirelessly on his game.”

Rayshawn is currently in his senior year at Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in Toronto, Ontario.

“Rayshawn Scarlett is the ideal combination of student-athlete,” Father Henry Carr basketball coach Melnik says. “He will be an All-Canadian on both the court and in the classroom. He will surely make FHC proud as the newest member of the Lakehead Men’s Basketball program. We wish him the best of luck as he progresses to the next level.”

“I’d like to thank Coach Thomson and the LU coaching staff for recruiting me to their program,” Scarlett says. “I’m ready to join the great program at LU and grow with this team and as an individual over the next few years. I’m beyond excited to begin this new chapter in my life as a Thunderwolf!”

Rayshawn will begin a BA-BEd in psychology this Fall in Thunder Bay. On the court he will bring versatility at the guard position to the men’s basketball team.

“Rayshawn’s tenacity defensively and ability to make shots from the perimeter are huge assets for us as a program,” Thomson says. “We’re excited to see his growth.”
