The Lakehead Thunderwolves wrestling team will be competing in their first competition of the season, the McMaster Invitational, on Sunday, Nov. 3 in Hamilton, ON.

The Thunderwolves will be sending 12 wrestlers, four from the women’s team and eight from the men’s.

Competing on the woman’s division are Madison Clayton, Riley George, Karen Nixon, and first-year wrestler Jessica Hong.

On the men’s side, Alexander Stirling, Jesse Leach, John Campbell, Cam Newton and first-year wrestlers Mike Zale, Aiden Evenson, Ben Bigelow and Joel Swarath.

“This will be a good opportunity to watch 5 of our first year wrestlers compete as Thunderwolves for the first time,” said head coach Francis Clayton.

“The McMaster Invitational is traditionally a very tough tournament, and we are looking forward to it.”
