| Volleyball (W)

The Lakehead women’s volleyball team competed at the Providence College Tournament this past weekend where they played some good games, going 3-1.

In game one, the Thunderwolves beat the Canadian Mennonite University 3-1 (20-25, 25-16, 25-19, 25-19. Lakehead then faced Providence where they took them down in three straight sets (25-7, 25-13, 25-14).

On Saturday, the Wolves took on Mayville State University, an NAIA team, and lost 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-21). Next, they took on Assiniboine Community College and won 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 26-24).

“Overall it was a great weekend for us and a great way to wrap up our preseason. We had an opportunity to face competition outside of our conference and get prepped for the beginning of our season. The whole team did a great job contributing in all four matches and the team continues to find themselves in new situations that brings invaluable experience to us. With preseason over now, the real work begins.” – Head Coach Craig Barclay

The first match for the Thunderwolves is their home opener on October 27 against Trent at 2:00 pm in the Thunderdome where it will also be High School/Club Volleyball day at the match.
