Tree Looking for Gold at CIS Championships

| Cross Country, News

Cross Country runner Kevin Tree will be representing Lakehead this Saturday, November 12, as he races in the 2016 CIS Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Laval in Quebec City.

With runners from all around the country participating, the race will be held on the Plains of Abraham with the women’s 6km race starting at 1:00pm and the men’s 10km race at 1:40pm.

“I’m excited for Saturday. I have got a solid 10 days of training in since OUA’s and I am feeling much more ready to go going into this weekend.” – Kevin Tree

Kevin has had a great season thus far winning 1st in both the Griak and Blugold Invitationals. Tree won 2nd at the OUA Championship two weeks ago with a time of 30:43 and was named first team all-star; proving he will again be a serious contender on the national stage.

“I am excited for the race this Saturday – the CIS Champs are always a great, competitive meet and the historic location on the Plains of Abraham only add to the excitement.  This will be Tree’s last cross country race as a Thunderwolf and he is ready to compete at his best.” Coach Sigsworth

Tree placed 2nd last year at the National Championship and will be giving it his all to get the gold, one last time as a Thunderwolf.
