WVB HOME OPENER AGAINST WINDSOR

| Volleyball (W)

The Lakehead women’s volleyball team (1-2) will face the Windsor Lancers (1-1) this weekend in their first home game in the Thunderdome of the 2017-18 season.

The Thunderwolves are coming off 2 tough matches on the road against Toronto and Ryerson, followed by a 3-1 win against Trent.

“Windsor brings a lot of firepower to the court. Coach Hodgson runs a strong and aggressive system so we have to be prepared. They are a similar team to us and we know what to expect.” -Coach Chris Green

Lancers’ Lexi Pollard and Jade Ziebarth are strong outside threats along with Emily McCloskey in the middle with freshman Paige Phills. Lakehead will rely heavily on its serve-block defense game to counter Windsor’s strengths. Jen Hammerton looks to continue to lead the offense in her strong and confident fashion.

Windsor faced Waterloo this past weekend losing 3-0 and beat Guelph the following night, 3-2.

“Great home opening weekend for us and we hope the Thunderdome is as it always is – packed and exciting.”

Games will be broadcasted on OUA.tv
