Coach Ryan Thomson and the Lakehead men’s basketball program are pleased to announce another talented recruit for the upcoming season. 6’8 forward, Kevin Ndahiro from Ottawa, ON will suit up for the ‘Wolves in the Fall of 2018.
Ndahiro is transferring from the University of North Alabama (NCAA D2) and previously competed for two seasons at Division 1 Stetson (Atlantic Sun Conference).
Kevin on his commitment:
“I chose Lakehead because of the relationship I have with Coach Thomson and Coach Erdman. I felt the transition would be a lot more at ease with Lakehead because my high school Coach, Coach Matt Koeslag, played there. In addition one of my closest friends, Anthony McIntosh played there as well. In regards to basketball, Lakehead is the perfect fit for my growth as a player, and my game translates best through Coach Thomson’s system. I am very excited to be a part of the family and ready to get to work.”
“I’m excited to get to the opportunity to work with Kevin. He’s a good person who wants to compete at a high level and wants to improve. He brings a great attitude along with some size, rebounding and finishing ability that will instantly help our program, ” explains Coach Thomson.
Kevin is also currently training with the Rwandan National Team in Kigali, Rwanda during the summer as they look to competing in the African Qualifiers, with their first game on June 29th against Mali.
