The Lakehead Thunderwolves added another win to their streak, defeating the host Guelph Gryphons 80-66 Sunday afternoon.
The Thunderwolves started the game with a 7 point run, and only gave up the lead once throughout the entire game. With less than 30 seconds to play, they held the game’s largest lead of 17 points.
“It was a good win today against a physical Guelph team,” said head coach Ryan Thomson.
“They always play tough and it’s a great test to start the second semester with.”
Lakehead’s Lock Lam was a force to be reckoned with, finishing the game with 29 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Isaiah Traylor and Laoui Msambya added 19 and 12 points respectively to help the Thunderwolves win their fifth straight game.
The Thunderwolves will look to continue their streak back home next weekend for the Bell Let’s Talk game against the Laurentian Voyageurs on Friday, Jan. 24 and the Think Pink game on Saturday, Jan. 25.
