Horner Wins Gold at Ontario Seniors

Seven members of Lakehead Wrestling competed Saturday at the Ontario Senior tournament, with Emma Horner (below) winning the gold medal in her division.
The women’s team placed 4th overall, while the men’s team placed 6th.
Dana Campbell won herself a silver medal, while Heather Brousseau (top photo) took home a bronze medal.
For the men’s side, Tyler Ashurst (74kg) and Drew Anderson (97kg) both placed 5th. Kevin Leatherdale and Brody Evans found themselves up against tough competition i ntheir division and were out of the top 6.
“This was a tough event featuring Ontario’s top wrestlers,” explained coach Francis Clayton. “Lakehead wrestled well, and has improved throughout this semester. The wrestling program has one more event, the York open, before the Christmas break.”
Lakehead wrestling will attend the York open on Saturday, Nov 28 in Toronto.
