Game Summary

November 17th 2023 

Your Lakehead Thunderwolves Men’s basketball (2-2) take to the Capital for their first game against teams in the East division starting with the Ottawa Gee-gees (3-0). 

Lakehead Thunderwolves would come out strong for the 1st putting up 31 points to Ottawa’s 22. 

Period 2 saw the Thunderwolves start to trail behind the Gee-gee’s after 7 minutes and give up the lead ending the first half at 41-50 to the Gee-gee’s. Lakehead only put up 10 points in the 2nd period against Ottawa’s 22 points. Tyler Sagl & Laoui Msambya with 12 points each at the end of the 1st half. 

The 3rd saw the Thunderwolves start to chase down Ottawa. The Thunderwolves played more defensively trying to stop baskets and take a very strong attack to bring the points difference down to 3, 64-67. 

Unfortunately the 4th period would not be in favour of the Thunderwolves as the Ottawa Gee-gee’s post 30 points against Lakehead’s 17. The final score was 81-97 to Ottawa. Laoui Msambya would have the most points with 21, followed by Harold Santacruz with 17.
