The women’s volleyball team came away with a 3-2 win over the Brock Badgers on Friday afternoon (25-23, 21-25, 18-25, 25-19, 16-14).
The ‘Wolves were able to rebound for the win after dropping the 2nd and 3rd sets, getting help from Sara Potter, who finished the game with 10 kills, 13 digs, 3 service aces and 3 block assists.
“We wanted to serve block aggressively,” said coach Chris Green post game. “We did that well for the most part and limited Brock’s offense.”
Rookie setter Haley Mehlhorn, of Regina, Saskatchewan, got the start on Friday, making 28 assists in the win.
“Haley did a great job running the offense,” added Green. “We also saw rookie Catherine Klassen have a stellar game at the net with her block and attack. Rachel Moore made a huge contribution at the net and with her serve.”
Klassen had 10 kills with 3 blocks, 12 digs and 3 aces, while fellow rookie Alyssa Genereux (libero) made 24 digs with 5 assists.
