Thunderwolves Woman’s Volleyball is pleased to announce the commitment of Isabel “Izzy” Bradley of Calgary, Alberta for the 2018-19 season.
Graduating from Calgary French and International School and Western Canada High School, Izzy plans on graduating from Lakehead with a Concurrent Intermediate/Senior Education degree in French.
A member of one of the top Club teams in Canada, the Junior Dino’s Volleyball Club, coached by Reid Brodie, Jillian Festival, and Olivia Salked, this versatile athlete will bring a high level of skill and positional detail to the Thunderwolves. At 5’10”, she will give Lakehead depth and experience as they seek to raise their level of play.
“Izzy came out here to see the team and the School, and it was clear our girls made an impact on her. She made an impact on us with her professional demeanor, work ethic and her willingness to play within our system. She is so well coached and I know we have a special contributor to our future here. Our staff is excited to get a commitment from Izzy to play for the Thunderwolves starting in 2018,” said Coach Chris Green.
Izzy on her decision:
“The girls were so welcoming and will be great teammates, so it was easy to see myself as a Thunderwolf. I am excited to contribute to the team and eager to learn from Coach Green as well as from my new teammates’ knowledge playing post-secondary volleyball thus far. I loved the beautiful campus and the small class sizes. Also Thunder Bay is a smaller city which I was looking for in a university. LU has the specific program I wanted to study and an excellent academic reputation. My relatives in Ontario allow me to be able to be close by to my family which was important to me.”
