Men’s Basketball to St Catharines

The men’s basketball team (5-1 pre-season) head to St Catharines this weekend to take on Windsor, York and Waterloo at the RBC Classic, hosted by Brock University.

Weekend schedule follows below.

Lakehead has surprised some with their pre-season record to date, the only loss coming by 3 points to Winnipeg in a game coach Manny Furtado knows could have had an alternate outcome. Nonetheless, Furtado understands it’s all preparation for the regular season that begins on November 6.

“This weekend is another opportunity for our guys to get some valuable game experience before the regular season begins in November,” commented Furtado.

With three games in three days, the weekend should serve as a test of endurance and give an indication of the depth of Lakehead’s bench.

“With three games in less than 48 hours, we’re going to need everyone to contribute,” added Furtado.

In last season’s match ups, Lakehead lost to Windsor (85-76), while winning those against York and Waterloo, 72-60 and 77-70.
