Leah Mousseau and Alyssa Genereux of the women’s volleyball team were recognized today by the OUA, as they were selected to the OUA West All-Rookie team.
“When the athletes’ work is recognized by OUA awards, it adds to the positive work we all do at Lakehead,” says coach Chris Green. “This year, Leah Mousseau and Alyssa Genereux have had that honor bestowed upon them. I am proud of Leah’s return to play after missing her entire season last year.”
Mousseau, of Ottawa, went down with a knee injury of September in 2014, which nullified her first year as a Thunderwolf, but she used the experience to study the game and Lakehead’s systems, along with getting back into game shape with great results.
Alyssa Genereux, a libero from Scarborough, came into the demanding role that the libero plays within Lakehead’s highly defensive system and sparkled in her freshman season.
