Nick Burke Added to Basketball Roster
The men’s basketball program added a significant player to their line-up for the upcoming season, transfer guard Nick Burke (U of Toronto).
Burke, a 6’0″ guard originally from Hamilton, has four years remaining.
“We are very fortunate to be adding an experienced student athlete to our program today,” says coach Manny Furtado.
Burke (photo left) averaged 5 points, 3 assists and 2 steals per game in his rookie season with the U of T Varsity Blues, and also made the OUA All-Rookie team. He will major in math at Lakehead.
“Nick’s athleticism and speed in the full court fits our system perfectly,” comments Furtado. “Defending the ball is something our team just got better at today with Nick joining us.”
