The Canadian College and University Nordic Championships (CCUNC) continued today, in Day 4 of the National Skiing Championships at Lappe Nordic Ski Centre. Today’s event was the classic technique interval start race.

Women’s 10K  Men’s 15km

After some dominant Lakehead performances on the weekend, it was skiers from the visiting Laval Rouge et Or and the Carleton Ravens that took the top podium spots on Tuesday.

In the men’s 15km classic technique race, Frederic Touchette won the gold medal with a time of 39:08.3, followed by three Lakehead skiers, Scott Hill (+1:06.3), Harry Seaton (+2:20.3) and Ben Wilkinson-Zan (+2:32.7).

Although the ‘Wolves missed out on the gold, their 2-3-4 placement greatly helps the Lakehead team’s standing in the grand scheme of things.

On the women’s side, Carleton Raven Kendra Murray (photo left) was first across the finish line in the 10km race with a time of 33:45.9, followed by Nipissing Laker Kajsa Heyes in second place (+36.4) and Lakehead’s Alannah Maclean in third (+59.0). Sadie White placed fourth for the T-Wolves’ women’s team, and Camille Hamm was 8th for the ‘Wolves.
