The Lakehead women’s volleyball team (3-12) takes on the York Lions on Saturday afternoon and the Nipissing Lakers on Sunday at the Thunderdome this weekend.
“York is a team that has been battling hard in their recent games. Over this season they have shown a resilient and consistent style of play. Nippising is fighting hard for a playoff spot and we know if we correct our Saturday game we will have a confident group heading into Sunday. We need to focus on us this weekend. We need to clean up our game, our focus, and our execution. With the Think Pink game on Saturday, the fight for the Cure is at hand! We will do our part to again support this effort.” – Coach Chris Green
Both York and Nipissing are in the middle of the pack in the OUA East with York having a record of 7-6 and Nipissing is 6-7. Both teams are currently on a losing streak but have some key athletes that can make an impact on the floor
The Thunderwolves will be raising money on Saturday afternoon to donate towards breast cancer research in Northern Ontario through the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation.
