Lakehead runner Kevin Tree competed Friday in the CIS Championships, running in the 3000m race.
Despite running personal bests and Lakehead record times earlier in the season, Tree didn’t have his best race on Friday, placing 12th (of 14) with a time of 8:36.69, a far cry from his personal best of 8:16.11 that he ran in Boston earlier this season.
Says coach Kip Sigsworth, “It was a tough day for Tree. For whatever reason he just didn’t have it today. Now he needs to regroup and get ready for World Cross in two weeks. I am confident that he will bounce back and be ready to go in two weeks.”
Kevin looks next to the World Cross Country Championships, happening in Guyang, China, where he will represent Team Canada on March 28.
