It was a good day for Kevin Tree at the Senior National cross country running championships. The swift Thunderwolf finished 6th, thus qualifying him for the Canadian team for the second year in a row.
“Tree ran tough the entire race with most of the best distance runners in Canada,” said coach Kip Sigsworth. “He was always up in the lead pack and responded to any moves that were made.”
Lakehead’s other runners also ran well – Dominique Aulganon placed 36th, Trevor Zimak 62nd, Tyler White 73rd and Kenny Groop 87th. Overall Lakehead Running placed 8th in the Senior Men’s team results.
“Great way to end the season overall,” continued Sigsworth. “I was pleased with the way the guys bounced back for an off day at OUA’s. Tree was great again, proving that on race day he can compete with anyone in the country.”
