Weekend Track Results

The Lakehead track team had athletes compete in the Golden Bear Challenge in Alberta, Windsor Team Challenge and the UWS Yellowjacket Open over this past weekend.

Joe McDonough, Derek Patterson and Heather Maxfield all competed in the University of Alberta Golden Bear Challenge. Derek Patterson and Joe McDonough both placed 6th in their events and Heather Maxfield finished 7th in the women’s 600m.

Kayla Gallo ran the 3000m at the University of Windsor Team Challenge where she placed 2^nd with a time of 10:26.

Josh Stovel and Connor MacIntosh both ran personal bests at the UWS Yellowjacket Open in Superior, Wis. Stovel placed 2^nd in the men’s 3000m with a time of 9:04 and MacIntosh finished 4^th also in the 3000m in 9:38.

“Mixed results this weekend.  We had some great results from the boys in Superior and some improvements in Edmonton.  We are not where we need to be for OUA’s yet but getting closer.  We have two weeks to internalize the lessons learned this weekend and fine tune.” – Coach Sigsworth

The OUA Track and Field Championships will take place on February 24^th and 25^th at York University.
