Wrestlers Take on Wesmen in Dual Meet Saturday

This Saturday the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse will feature the only home event of the season for Lakehead Wrestling, as they host the Winnipeg Wesmen in the Thunderdome in a dual meet.

Team rosters follow below.

Action is set to begin at 12 noon, and features 14 matches, as Lakehead and Winnipeg wrestlers will go head-to-head in women’s and men’s matches, from the lightweights to the heavy’s and all classes in between. There will also be some exhibition matches on the card.

“I think this is a good event to start the season,” said Lakehead coach Francis Clayton. “U of W has a very good wrestling program and will be a good first competition for both teams.”

U Winnipeg’s men’s team placed 6th at the CIS championships last season, while their women placed 11th (Lakehead was 14th and 10th, respectively).
