Wrestlers Travel to McMaster Invitational

The Lakehead wrestling team will travel to Hamilton, ON this weekend to compete in the McMaster Invitational.

It is expected to have 12 University teams and 10 – 15 club programs competing. Lakehead will enter 16 wrestlers, including 9 women and 7 men. This will be the first major tournament as Thunderwolves for ten of the 16 wrestlers competing.

“This event will give us a chance to see if the things we are working on in practice, will work in competition.” – Coach Clayton

Some of the wrestlers making the trip are graduates of Thunder Bay High Schools and the Lakehead Wrestling Club including, Casey Turner (Churchill), Marco Palermo and Jacob Luczak (St Patrick), Jesse Leach (St Ignatius) and Madison Clayton (Hammarskjold).

The Thunderwolves hosted Algoma University in a Dual Meet earlier in October where Lakehead won 6 out of 10 varsity matches.

The McMaster Invitational will be held on Saturday, November 4.
