Wrestlers Travel to Mac Invitational
Lakehead wrestling travels to Hamilton this weekend to take on the field at the McMaster Invitational, being held on Saturday.
The tournament features Lakehead’s familiar OUA foes, and usually has some American wrestling programs compete as well.
This will be Lakehead’s second event of the season. The Thunderwolves got their first test of the season in the Thunderdome on October 17 vs the Winnipeg Wesmen in a dual meet.
“Winnipeg’s got some of the best wrestlers in the CIS, so I think it was good preparation for this weekend and the rest of the season,” says coach Francis Clayton.
The McMaster Invitational is a tournament-style format that will have over 10 universities competing across men’s and women’s weight classes. Lakehead will be sending 7 men and 3 women (listed below).
