Wrestlers at U Sports Championships

Lakehead has 3 wrestlers competing at this weekend’s U Sports Wrestling Championships. Marco Palermo at 54 kg, Kevin Leatherdale at 61 kg and Jessica Bershatsky at 51 kg will all be competing.

All three athletes reached the podium at the OUA  Championship that booked their tickets to compete nationally. Palermo grabbed gold (54kg) and the Thunderwolves added bronze from Kevin Leatherdale (61kg) and Jessica Bershatsky (51kg).

Palermo also received OUA Men’s Rookie of the Year.

A total of 15 schools will compete at the Championships this weekend at the University of Winnipeg. Preliminary rounds take place Friday the 24 and the placement matches are on February 25th.
