Wrestling will Compete in McMaster Invitational
Lakehead Wrestling is travelling to Hamilton this weekend to compete in the McMaster Invitational.
“We are coming off a strong performance at home last weekend against Laurentian and Algoma, winning 8 of 12 matches” –Coach Clayton
McMaster is always a strong event featuring teams from the OUA, Quebec, Manitoba and the States.
Last year at the Invite, Lakehead ranked 6th for both men’s and women’s. Thunder Bays Dana Campbell captured gold in the 72kg weight class and Kevin Leatherdale (61kg) finished 5th in his division.
The McMaster Invitational is a tournament-style format that will have multiple universities competing across both men and women’s weight classes. Lakehead will be sending a small team of freshmen and seniors that will consist of 6 men and 3 women (listed below).
