Lakehead Track and Cross-Country Team Adds Arizona Sister Duo

The Lakehead Track & Field/Cross-Country team has announced the commitment of sisters Eve and Quinn Boardman of Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arizona for the upcoming 2021 – 2022 season.

“I’m extremely excited that both Eve and Quinn have chosen Lakehead University to pursue their post-secondary education. Both Eve and Quinn are exceptional students in the classroom and on the track, we’re lucky to have them join us,” said Joe McDonough, Interim Head Coach of the team.

Quinn Boardman, a scoring member on her Arizona State Cross-Country Championship team in 2019 and 2020, holds a personal best of 5:26 in the mile. “The small, unique city was something that really attracted me to the school, both of my parents graduated from Lakehead, and Thunder Bay has some really beautiful running trails” said Boardman when asked about Lakehead.  “I’m really looking forward to finally meeting all of the girls and I’m very excited to race for Lakehead!”  Quinn will be studying Commerce in the fall.

Eve Boardman, like her sister, was a scoring member on her two Cross-Country State Championship teams, and holds a personal best of 5:29 in the mile. “I chose Lakehead University because I think it will offer me the most individual attention, both academically and athletically and I’m very excited to have a close-knit bond between my future teammates,” said Boardman. Eve will be studying Political Science in the fall.

“Eve and Quinn will be great additions to Lakehead University. Both are exceptional students and have the positive-hardworking attitudes that we’re looking to add to the program. Eve and Quinn will have an immediate impact with us, bolstering our women’s roster significantly and I can’t wait to see what they can do as varsity runners.” said McDonough.
