Spring League 2024

Boy’s Spring League 2024 (Grades 3 through 12)

  • Description: Join the Thunderwolves Men’s Basketball team for their annual spring league! Work with the players and coaches of the LU team to build your basketball skills through league play. Sessions will help athletes build their fundamentals through game play! Reversible jersey is included in the registration fee!
  • Location: CJ Sanders Fieldhouse Main Gym, 955 Sanders Drive
  • Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays, Mar 25th through May 9th 
      • EXCEPTION: No session on Easter Monday,  Make-up session will be Friday, April 5th
  • Division & Times
      • Grades 3 & 4 – 4:30 to 5:30 
      • Grades 5 & 6 – 5:30 to 6:30
      • Grades 7 & 8 – 6:30 to 7:30
      • Grades 9 through 12 – 7:30 to 8:30
  • Cost: $190, Includes a reversible jersey!

Coed Spring League (JK through Grade 2)

  • Description: Join athletes from our Men’s & Women’s Basketball teams for their annual spring league! Work with the players and coaches of the LU team to build your basketball skills through league play. The coed divisions will include drills to help build the fundamentals in addition to game play. T-Shirt is included in your registration!
  • Location: CJ Sanders Fieldhouse Main Gym, 955 Sanders Drive
  • Dates: Sundays, April 7th to May 5th (5 total sessions)
  • Divisions & Times
    • JK & SK – 10:00 am to 10:45 am
    • Grade 1 & 2 – 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Thunderwolves Shooting Camp

Description: Shooting camp open to girls and boys that want to improve their shooting mechanics and consistency. Led by head women’s Coach Hugo Boisvert, the camp will provide athletes with the proper shooting mechanics, corrections and habits to improve their percentages. Players will leave camp with a form shooting routine they can apply daily and a better understanding of how to train and evaluate their shot. Topics covered will include:

  • Form and technique + aiming for ‘’Clean’’ makes 
  • Power generation and rhythm 
  • Footwork off the catch and off the dribble 
  • Movement off the ball to generate open shots 

Date: Sunday, April 28th, 2024

Age Divisions/Times/Costs:

  • Coed Grades 7, 8, & 9 – 9:00 am to 12:00 pm – $75.00
  • Coed Grades 10, 11, & 12  – 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm – $75.00
  • Observing Coaches – Can attend either session, $25.00

SUMMER CAMPS 2024

July Skills & Drills Camp

Join the Thunderwolves Men’s Basketball team for their annual July Camp!

Description: Campers will learn fundamental skills including but not limited to dribbling, passing, shooting and defense with a focus on teamwork, improving mobility and functional athleticism. 

Dates: July 8 through 12

Age Divisions/Times/Costs:

  • Ages 6 to 9 – 9:00 am to 10:30 am – $120
  • Ages 10 to 13 – 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm – $120
  • HS Skills Sessions – 11:00 am to 12:00 pm – $80

Location: All MBB Camps will take place in the Main Fieldhouse Gym at 955 Sanders Drive.

August Player Development Camp 

Join the Thunderwolves Men’s Basketball team for their annual August Player Development Camp. 

Description: Join us for our skill specific development sessions, which are led by Lakehead Thunderwolves players and coaches. 

Dates: Aug 19 to 23

Age Divisions/Times/Costs:

  • Ages 6 to 9 – 9:00 am to 10:30 am – $120
  • Ages 10 to 11 – 11:00 am to 12:30 pm – $120
  • Ages 12 to 13 – 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm – $120
  • High School – 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm – $80

Coed Mini Basketball Camp

Register to improve your fundamental skills and learn basketball principles of play with the Thunderwolves players and coaches. Campers will have the opportunity to learn the game within a fun and inclusive environment. They will experience skill development sessions, small sided games as well as other competitions. 

NEW for Summer 2024, this will be a weekly camp running on Saturdays through July & AUgust!

Dates: Saturdays starting July 6th through to August 24th. There will be no session on Aug 3rd due to the long weekend. 

Time: 10:00 am to 10:45 am

Ages: 3 to 5

Cost: $70 

Location: All WBB Camps will take place in the Main Fieldhouse Gym at 955 Sanders Drive.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Navigate to our registration portal at: https://luathletics.lakeheadu.ca/
  2. Log in to your account by clicking “Sign In” at the top right of our registration portal. Be sure to use the main username/email box to sign in,  unless you are a lakehead faculty, student, or staff. If you are a current lakehead faculty, student, or staff with a MyInfo login, please select “click here for Lakehead User login” and use those credentials.
    1. For first time users, hit “sign up” at the bottom of the pop up box. Please create your user account using the parents information. Do not create the account in your child’s name.
    2. If you do not remember your username or password, you can hit “trouble logging in” to get your username sent to you or request a password reset email. You can also email athleticsfrontdesk@lakeheadu.ca or activeu@lakeheadu.ca for account access support
  3. Navigate to your program of choice by going to Program Registration, selecting the classification “Youth Programs”, and then selecting the correct “Semester (which is Spring/Summer 2024 for spring league”. You can narrow your search further by “Category” if desired (ActiveU, Basketball, etc.)
  4. Select your desired program.
  5. Click “Register” next to the offering you are wanting to register for. Then, click “register” next to your child’s name. If your child is not there, click “add a family member” to create their profile
    1. If the register button is missing, it is likely that you or your child are missing a birthday on your profile! You can edit or add birthdays by hitting your username in the top right corner of the page. You’ll need to change the ‘Viewing As’ person to the individual whose birthday you are trying to change, and then can hit the edit button.
  6. Complete the camp registration steps
    1. For the waiver page, be sure to click on the grey box and then sign in the white pop up box
    2. For the custom prompts, make sure you have selected a response for all required questions
